Efforts to Document Border Patrol Abuses on

Tohono O’odham People Move Forward

n Sunday, April 11, O’odham VOICE Against the Wall and No More Deaths sponsored a training session for volunteers to learn to assist in documenting violations of indigenous rights on O’odham land (where about every other car on the road is Border Patrol, tribal police, sheriff or highway patrol).  Another training is being planned for early May. As more details come forth we will be sure to post them.

In the meantime, if you want to learn more about the abuse that O’odham are facing  you can read Immigration, Imperialism and Cultural Genocide; an interview with Ofelia Rivas. You can also visit the O’odham Solidarity Project web page.
